Podcast Quality question

Is the echoing voices a byproduct of using skype, or is the editing just bad? Also I was happy how quickly the talking started after the most recent podcast started, I didn't have to wait through 30 seconds of the intro.

So here's the thing with editing.

Say... Bob's mic picks up the voices of the other hosts, it's impossible to edit out the echo if someone else is talking at the same time as Bob. There fore there are echoing problems. =[ It's unfortunate but, if we can't hear it when we're recording, we don't know until someone goes to edit it andddd there is no way to fix that.

However, the editing has been going much smoother in recent episodes, and we plan on not switching editors so often and just sticking with one or two.

Wait...couldn't that be easily fixed if everyone just used earphones instead of computer speakers?

Yes it can. But if I don't know that person X is using headphones... and we can't hear the echo... we don't know. And sometimes internal mics don't pick up the speakers. One would have to test their mic first in audacity which doesn't always happen.
