Hello. As I'm up at five in the morning with NOTHING to do, I thought I'd check my email when all of a sudden I remembered your story! I've only just read the first bit, but I really like it! It's quite relaxing your style is! Easy to read and rather interesting.
Thought you'd like to know is all :]

Thanks!

i thought part 2 was actually really good. ofcourse there were some parts that was worded a little akward but i really liked the imagery and how they appealed to my senses (like smell).

i just read the first part but instead of just saying "it's good" like everyone else is going to i'm just going to go straight to the constructive critisism. firstly i like how you're trying to establish your 3 main charachters which is obviously the greys however in your attempt to go more in depth in them i find myself sidetracted with other things because it doesn't hold my attention, not that it's bad or anything, i just want it so i can't stop reading. I think it would be good if you tried to show the readers what this story is going to be about and drop off more hints than just the crow and her asking if they missed their old lives. i'm going to continue reading the other parts probably later today to offer more opinions.

The Curse of Nemereth ... Part 1 ... read this first

Title: The Curse of Nemereth

An original novel by Marguerite Davis.

Chapter 1.

Magnolia lane was a pretty suburban street, where very ordinary people lived very ordinary lives. Or so it seemed. Nobody, not even Mrs Wright, an extremely nosy widow from number 12, would suspect there was something strange about the handsome couple, Alan and Patricia Grey, who lived at number 7 with their daughter Sophie. Alan was a stockbroker, and Patricia a freelance illustrator of children’s fantasy books.… Continue

The Chinese restaurant was small, cosy and filled with delicious aromas of exotic foods. They got a table in a corner with a red lantern hanging over it.
In the middle of the table was a round platform, which could be rotated to pass the food around.
A frown crossed Sophie's face.
'What is it, Sophie?' her mother asked.
'I had the dream again,' said Sophie, her eyes darting nervously.
Patricia looked at Alan.

The Curse of Nemereth ... Part 3 ... read part 2 first

Ryan Grey came closer and pulled out an apple from the pocket of his cloak. He extended his hand towards the mare. She sniffed curiously, and then gently picked up the apple from his palm and munched with relish. She was quite relaxed now, and allowed everyone to stroke her.
Finally after saying goodbyes they were on their way. A few kilometres further Ken turned off into a country road and found a quiet spot screened by trees and bushes.
‘We should be all right here,’ he said looking around a l… Continue

The Curse of Nemereth ... Part 4 ... read part 3 first

There was a knock on her door. Hoping it wasn’t cousin Bertie Sophie went to open it. To her relief aunt Fiona was standing there.
‘I came to teach you that spell to put out great aunt Edith,’ she said. ‘I remembered that once something did catch fire, although it shouldn’t happen.’
‘What if she burns somewhere in the house with no one to put her out?’ asked Sophie.
‘She doesn’t. She will only burst into flames when people are present,’ aunt Fiona walked into the room and glanced at the bed.
‘Go… Continue

The Curse of Nemereth ... Part 5 ... read part 4 first

‘Magic of course, how else?’ replied Bel with a happy grin.
‘Are these windows?’ asked Sophie pointing at the wall openings. ‘Do they open?’
Mel drew his wand and flicked it, and Sophie felt moist breeze against her skin. She stretched out her hand, then leaned forward feeling the rain drops on her face.
‘Took them two years nagging mom and dad to have this cave made,’ said Cathy. ‘But when they got distinctions in four subjects at school our parents gave in. Although mom is still complaining ab… Continue
